YA Book Trigger Warnings

Trigger warning matrix for YA novels — bullying, suicide, sex, violence and more.

"YA" does not mean "safe". Many landmark YA novels are precisely about the heaviest material of adolescence — bullying, suicide, domestic abuse, substance use, sexual violence. The marketing label "young adult" can mislead parents, teachers, and even teen readers into expecting something lighter than what's actually on the page.

This page collects every YA title in our database with its full trigger matrix. For parents and teachers it works as a vetting list; for teen readers it helps decide whether to read now, postpone, or read with support nearby. Each card's mild-spoiler layer describes scene intensity without spoiling the ending.
